What Is a Roller Zipline? Meet Roller Rock in Khao Lak
Understand how Roller Rock differs from a platform zipline course and decide whether to book a round or a combination package.

In this guide
A roller zipline is a suspended ride that follows a curving route, adding changes of direction to the familiar idea of travelling through the air on a zipline. At Sky Rock Khao Lak, the activity is called Roller Rock. It is listed as a round of approximately three to five minutes with four curves, and can be booked on its own or as part of a Rock & Roll package.
That distinction matters when you are choosing an activity. Roller Rock is not another name for the 10-, 14- or 27-platform course. It is a separate experience with a different rhythm. If your group has been using “zipline” to mean every aerial activity, spend a moment separating the two before choosing tickets.
How does a roller zipline differ from a conventional zipline?
The familiar image of a zipline is a line between two points. A visitor travels along that line, then reaches the next part of the route. A platform course can combine several such sections with other elements. The individual transitions and the variety along the course are part of the outing.
With Roller Rock, the curving route is the feature. Rather than concentrating only on the straight crossing between platforms, you are choosing an activity built around moving through changes of direction. “Roller” is a helpful description of that character; it should not make you assume the ride uses the seats, controls or operating procedures of a theme-park roller coaster.
Ask staff to explain the position you will ride in, how you will be supported and what instructions you need to follow. Those practical details are more useful than trying to judge the experience from a short video. A camera angle can emphasise one moment while leaving out arrival, preparation and the rest of the visit.

What does the listed three-to-five-minute duration mean?
It describes the approximate ride duration for a round. It does not mean you should arrive five minutes before another appointment and expect to be finished. Check-in, preparation, staff instructions and the order of operations are separate from the moving time.
Sky Rock's safety page asks guests to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled activity. Follow the details in your confirmation and ask the team how much total time to reserve for a standalone Roller Rock visit. If your day includes a transfer or a fixed departure, explain that constraint before booking.
A short ride can still be the main reason someone visits. Equally, if your idea of value is spending longer on a varied platform route, ride duration alone will not answer the package question. Think about what you want to experience rather than dividing the ticket price by minutes in motion.
Book a round or choose a Rock & Roll combination?
The listed standalone price is 1,000 THB per person per round. Rock & Roll packages combine Roller Rock with a platform course and a light lunch. The useful starting question is whether you want the roller experience alone or want to build a longer outing around both activities.
| Choice | What it combines | Listed price per person | Approximate activity duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roller Rock | One roller round | 1,000 THB | 3–5 minutes for the ride |
| Rock & Roll 3 | 10 platforms, roller and light lunch | 1,950 THB | 1 hour |
| Rock & Roll 2 | 14 platforms, roller and light lunch | 2,350 THB | 1.5 hours |
| Rock & Roll 1 | 27 platforms, roller and light lunch | 3,250 THB | 2.5 hours |
Confirm prices and inclusions in the current catalogue before paying. If lunch affects your choice, ask about any dietary requirements before relying on the meal inclusion. The package name alone does not tell the team what you can eat.
Is Roller Rock the gentler choice because it is shorter?
Duration is not a measure of how an activity will feel to you. Some visitors are interested in the curves; others would rather understand a platform route section by section. Neither preference can be reduced to a universal “easy” or “intense” label.
If changes of direction, height or the riding position concern you, describe the concern to staff and ask how it relates to Roller Rock. Do not use the short duration as a reason to dismiss it. Also avoid assuming that booking a longer platform course automatically makes the roller suitable.
The published maximum weight is 120 kg. Sky Rock's terms set an age range of four to 70, with children fully four on the activity day, and further participation restrictions apply. Ask the team to confirm eligibility for Roller Rock specifically, including requirements for children and equipment fit. Read the visitor requirements before choosing a package.

Prepare for the ride, not for a photograph
Wear closed-toe shoes, choose breathable clothing that lets you move, secure long hair and remove loose jewellery. Ask what may be carried and how glasses or phones should be handled. An accessory advertised as an “action” strap is not permission to use it during this activity.
If capturing the ride matters to you, ask about the photography or video options available for your session and their current cost. Establish this before you set off. You should be able to focus on the briefing without simultaneously working out how to hold a phone.
Bring the questions that an image cannot answer: where to report, how your group will be organised, what non-participating companions should plan, and how belongings are managed. Get actual arrangements from the team rather than assuming there is a particular waiting area or storage facility.
Make a confident choice without promising yourself a reaction
You do not need to know whether you will call the experience exciting, unusual or challenging afterwards. You do need enough information to decide willingly. If you are worried about heights, discuss that before booking; severe fear of heights can affect participation under Sky Rock's restrictions.
Start with the Roller Rock page for the activity, or use the package comparison if you want both experiences. Once the duration, requirements and inclusions make sense for your group, choose your booking. For questions about the ride itself, contact the team with the exact point you want explained.
