Planning Your Visit

What to Wear Ziplining in Khao Lak: A Practical Packing Guide

Choose comfortable clothes, suitable shoes and a small packing list so you arrive at Sky Rock ready to focus on the activity.

In this guide

For ziplining at Sky Rock Khao Lak, wear closed-toe shoes and breathable clothing that lets you move comfortably. Tie back long hair, remove loose jewellery and keep accessories simple. Before leaving your accommodation, check that you can bend your knees, raise your arms and sit comfortably without your clothes pulling or loose items swinging.

You do not need a specialist adventure wardrobe. An outfit you already know is comfortable is a better starting point than unfamiliar clothes bought for a photograph. The useful question is whether each item will work during an active outdoor visit and meet the staff's requirements, rather than whether it looks like sports equipment.

Start with your shoes

Closed-toe shoes are the clearest item to settle first. Choose a pair that fits securely and is comfortable for standing and moving around. Check the fastening and the condition of the soles before you pack them. Familiar trainers may be a practical starting point, but ask staff if you are uncertain about your particular pair.

Beach footwear is easy to bring by habit when you are staying in Khao Lak. Do not rely on flip-flops or open sandals for your activity outfit. If you arrive from the beach, change into the shoes you intend to use before check-in rather than discovering the problem during preparation.

Wear socks that work with the chosen shoes, and avoid making the activity your first outing in a stiff new pair. Bring spare socks if you would appreciate a dry change afterwards. That is a comfort item for your own bag, not a reason to assume there is a particular changing facility at the park.

Choose clothes by how they move

Tops: breathable and uncomplicated

A comfortable T-shirt or similar breathable top keeps the decision straightforward. Check for loose cords, decorative pieces or anything that could get in the way. You should be able to lift both arms without constantly adjusting the hem.

Think about the whole visit, including the time before and after the activity. A top that feels comfortable in your room may be less comfortable once you have been walking or waiting outdoors. Bring a spare for afterwards if that suits your plans, particularly when you are continuing elsewhere.

Bottoms: test bending and sitting

Comfortable trousers or longer shorts can be practical options when they allow movement and work with the equipment. Check the fit at your waist and thighs while bending and sitting. Avoid assuming that very short, restrictive or flowing clothing will be comfortable with a harness; ask the team if you are unsure.

Pockets deserve a separate check. A deep pocket does not automatically make a phone secure or permitted during the activity. Decide what you actually need to carry and get the staff's instructions before keeping anything on your person.

Deal with hair, jewellery and accessories before arrival

Tie back long hair and remove loose jewellery. Do this before you leave if possible, when you have a convenient place to put small valuables. Keep a spare hair tie in your bag so one broken band does not become a last-minute inconvenience.

Look beyond obvious necklaces and dangling earrings. Check bracelets, clothing cords, decorative clips and anything attached to a bag or belt. The goal is a simple outfit that staff can assess without a collection of loose additions. Follow their instructions if something needs to be removed or adjusted.

For a head covering or other clothing worn for religious or personal reasons, contact the team before booking to discuss fit and the relevant equipment requirements. Describe the item clearly so the conversation can be specific. Do not assume that an accessory can be added over equipment or that changing its fit yourself is acceptable.

Ask about glasses, phones and cameras

If you wear glasses, tell staff and ask what arrangement is suitable for the activity. Do not switch away from vision correction you need merely because you assume glasses are forbidden. Equally, do not assume a strap makes every pair or attachment acceptable; get an answer about your actual item.

A phone is useful for reaching the meeting point and finding your confirmation, but that does not settle whether it can accompany you on the course. Ask what may be carried and how belongings should be managed. Never rely on an open pocket, a hand grip or a strap you have not discussed with staff.

If photos or video are important, ask about available options and their price before the briefing. Then you can concentrate on the instructions instead of trying to arrange a recording at the last moment. Our questions to ask before booking includes equipment and belongings questions worth sending in advance.

Keep valuables to a minimum and ask about storage in advance. Do not assume lockers, a supervised bag area or a changing room are available. Knowing the actual arrangements may change what you choose to bring or leave at your accommodation.

Prepare for rain without improvising your equipment

Ordinary rain does not automatically cancel a Sky Rock session. Check with the team about conditions and suitable clothing for your booking. A spare dry layer for afterwards can be useful, but loose rainwear should not be assumed appropriate during the activity.

Do not attach a poncho, cover, bag or other item to activity equipment yourself. Ask staff what is permitted and follow their directions. For the distinction between rain and an operational weather suspension, read the rain and weather guide.

Do a final check before leaving

Put on the complete outfit, including shoes, and move around for a minute. Empty unnecessary pocket contents, secure your hair and check that your booking details are accessible. Review the safety page for participation requirements; a suitable outfit is preparation, not confirmation of eligibility.

Allow the requested 30-minute early arrival and follow your booking confirmation. If a clothing or equipment-fit question remains, contact Sky Rock before travelling. Resolving one specific question ahead of time is far easier than trying to replace an essential item just as your session is due to begin.
